This month we were selected by Wedding and Portait Photographer International as their studio of the month which is quite an honor!  Specifically they looked at our innovative approach to story telling via multimedia image narrations.

Below is the beginning and link to full article:

"Digital technology is changing the way we preserve our memories. Today's photographers can tell stories and illustrate events in more depth than ever before," explains photographer Catherine Hall. Hall--a pioneering artist who is developing what she calls "Image Narration"--is owner and founder of an eponymous studio. Catherine Hall Studios specializes in both editorial and wedding photography. Her wedding coverage allows her to serve the upper echelons of bicoastal society, predominantly the New York metropolitan area and San Francisco Bay Area residents.

"At the moment, I position Image Narration as a special added product that complements my in-place photography and album offering," says Hall. With her new way of storytelling, Hall has quickly grown a following among a white glove clientele, READ MORE and VIEW ARTICLE

I just returned from the most amazing adventure!   In April, 2008, Adobe sent a group of 17 internationally renowned photographers to the end of the world, literally, to the remote island  of Tasmania. Our mission was to road test specialized digital  photography software designed by Adobe while capturing images from  one of the world's most mysterious and varied geographic locations.

The other photographers were all amazing and very inspiring.  Perhaps one of the most interesting being Bruce Dorn, who has photographed in over 75 countries for National Geographic - pretty amazing.

It was an incredible trip - please stay tuned for more details and imagery.

For those of you wondering why I disappeared off the face of the earth for a week.... I was in Vegas for  EIGHT days. It was an incredible trip!  The week started with album judging where I served on panel of 10 international judges (1 of 5 selected from the United States.)  This was quite an honor considering the convention had over 10,000 attendees!  My favorite albums of the comp are by Jerry Ghionis, Jim Garner. and the The Sallees.

I also was a young gun - more information and photos to folllow!

And finally, I had my Platform class on St. Pattys day.  The class was a huge success with nearly 1000 people there.  We even had people bringing in chairs from other classrooms.  All and all a great trip!

Below is a photo of three of my favorite people at wppi, Melisa Slater, Lori Nordstrom,  and Deette Sallee.

I just got back from Los Angeles where I did a photo shoot with celebrity photographer, Greg Gorman.  The main difference with this shoot was that I was actually the model...so fun!

It was an incredible experience being in front of the camera of one of the greatest photographers of our time.  Above is a picture of Greg and me in his home.  I will post some of the images from the shoot shortly.

This spring WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) has invited me to present a Platform Class about Marketing to the Inspiring Bride.  The class will be held in Vegas on Monday, March 17th at 4:00 pm.  Speaking room holds 837 people, so come on over!

I will be part of a team of professional photographers and Adobe personnel working collectively and using a real-world backdrop to road-test the next generation of imaging software tools.

Location:  The island of Tasmania, off the southern coast of Australia.  It is going to be fabulous!

One of my favorite couples, Sonali Das and Derek Theisen, were featured in the Weddings/Celebrations section of the New York Times.  They were so much fun to work with and so SEXY in front of the camera.  I will post some of their images shortly.

This Winter Season my imagery is featured in Grace Ormonde, Wedding Style.  The feature can be seen in the New England issue or on line on the Grace Ormonde Website.  I will post print copy shortly, it is beautiful and begins with a double page spread of one my images.

Feature reads:

Catherine Hall is known for keeping couples "engaged with encouragement" and trying to keep things "fluid and fun."  One of the many ways she does it:  "I will often direct, but won't pose, in order to keep a lot of energy in my images."  Many times she will even share cocktails with a couple before the session giving them some time to "get to know each other in a relaxed, social environment."  She adds: "The more you know your clients, the better and more personal the images will be."

I figured with the closing of 2007 and the beginning of a new year it would be fun to take a look at some of the SEXY imagery I have created prior to 2008.  I am lucky to have the most amazing brides with grace in beauty.

Enjoy the slideshow - turn on the volume ;)

It has been a crazy week, starting with a seminar at the Digital Wedding Forum on how to create "SEXY IMAGERY" to an absolutely stunning wedding in NYC to heading up to Hallmark Institute in Massachusetts to give a lecture for Epson.  It is 13 degrees tonight so now I am just trying to stay warm!  Life is fun and full of  excitement!
