Quick Tip: Feed Your Creative Juices!

Wed 09.12.2012

This was shot on iPhone 4s with Camera Awesome by SmugMug.

Quick Tip:Feed your creative juices! Creativity is like a muscle and needs to be exercised to stay in shape.  Don’t just rely on photography to bring out your expressive side. Prioritize other activities that cultivate creativity so you are “in shape”.  For me, dancing my butt off to house music does the trick.  Petra Cross and I do it up at Kaskade!

Thu 09.06.2012

I am beyond excited to share my story and the powerful role photography plays in my life.

Thanks for taking a moment to see what makes me tick and let me know if you have anything in common?

A special thanks to the incredibly talented Anton of Lorimerworks (he is a genius) and my beautiful subjects: Julia and Mark Kniesche, Tanya and Blake Wirht, Lauren Fletcher.

Quick Tip: Paint the Full Picture!

This was shot at F/20 @ 1/50 sec using Canon 5D at 33 mm.

Quick Tip: Paint the full picture! When taking portraits don’t forget to include their native environment. Incorporating your subject’s surroundings creates a story to accompany your subject.

Quick Tip: Location, Location, Location

Tue 09.04.2012

This was shot at F/3.2 @ 1/160 sec. using Canon 5D MII at 85 mm.

Quick Tip: Locations often play a paramount role in the impact of an image. Search for backgrounds that complement the clothing and personalities of the couple. Don’t stick a conservative couple against a graffiti wall just to get your shot – it won’t resonate with them and you won’t create the best image of your clients.

Where is your favorite location to photograph a couple?
