0I was recently notified that the below image was selected by a panel of judges to appear in a photo exhibition at Getty Images, NY as a winner of the 2006 Getty Images New York Photo Contest. This image was selected for the award.
The scholarship I won from WPPI included a 2 two-day workshop with Australian Master Photographer, Jerry Ghionis. He was an exceptional instructor and incredibly inspiring.

Tonight I went to World Press Photo Awards at the United Nations Headquarters in New York to drink wine and celebrate some of the top photojournalists in the world. It was an amazing event. I received an incredibly generous scholarship – Hy Sheanin Memorial Scholarship – from WPPI to attend the WPPI expo in Vegas. It was extremely informative and I met some incredibly amazing people!
