Out + About
At the PDN PhotoPlus 2010 conference, I delivered a seminar about how to become a household name in photography – fast! My students and I unpacked the sometimes-daunting world of social-media marketing, discussing savvy use of contemporary media, such as blogging, Facebook, podcasting, video blogging, and Twitter. I also emphasized how crucial it is to take a risk and get your photography out there – from editorial features, awards, gallery exhibitions, and scholarships. My students were fantastic – we had a blast learning, getting to know one another, and developing connections that will last for years to come.
On Wednesday night, I attended Holiday Martini Madness, a swanky soiree hosted by Duncan Reyes at San Francisco’s Infusion Lounge. A gathering for wedding-industry professionals, we had a magnificent time chatting up and knocking back. Below, see some lovely pics with these rad insiders.
Recently, I spent a gorgeous weekend at the PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn, where I was invited to speak at A Day in the Mountains. Hosted by event planners at One Fine Day, the weekend featured fantastic food, sumptuous quarters, and delightful people. It was a real honor to speak alongside the illustrious Scott Corridan, who presented a high-minded lecture, called–um–Boobs and Butts.
