In this episode of TWiT Photo, we take a look inside Google+ superstar Colby Brown’s “Dexter kill-room.” Just kidding, Colby! Like last week’s guest Jasmine Star, Colby only picked up a digital SLR in 2006. In just 5 short years, he has not only amassed an impressive client roll that includes National Geographic, the professional photographer has also become a social media leader by sharing his amazing work and helping to grow a vibrant community of photography enthusiasts. The travel and landscape photographer also uses his art to aid humanitarian efforts around the world.
My favorite quotes from Colby? “If you can’t find inspiration in your own backyard, you’re not trying hard enough.” and “I am allergic to flash.” :p What was your favorite quote?

The TWiT Photo chatroom was all abuzz with vigor with American Photo Top 10 Wedding Photographer Jasmine Star as our guest. Jasmine brought her bubbly forthrightness and infectious optimism to the show – and shared her truly inspiring backstory about how she quit law school to be a professional photographer. Temperatures were definitely rising in the new TWiT studio as Leo and I were joined by rockstar photographer/director Chase Jarvis. Chase is not only an outstanding photographer, he is also a visionary who shares his knowledge through educational videos, inspiring interviews on Chase Jarvis Live and his amazing newly launched blog. For those of you who didn’t know, TWiT (This Week in Tech) moved into a snazzy new studio – and TWiT Photo, which I co-host with Chief TWiT Leo Laporte, is the first show on the network to debut in the living room set. I’ve had a blast interviewing illustrious photographers such as Scott Kelby, Ed Kashi, Art Wolfe, Bruce Dale and Peter Eastway – and this awesome new space only ups the ante for both the TWiT Photo crew and you, viewers. We couldn’t have asked for a better guest than Atlanta-based editorial music photog (and educator) Zack Arias. Check out photos of our first show in the new digs :)
