A hanging flower piece that swings like a pendulum adds a feisty, fancy twist to the traditional bouquet.

In the popular imagination, wedding is synonymous with bride. The occasion celebrates her taste, intelligence, and grace. Indeed, an entire industry developed around her sparkling engagement ring, luminescent gown, and momentous procession down the aisle. I decided it was high-time to shake things up a bit. For a recent photo shoot, I trained my focus on the oft-neglected groom. And it was a blast.

Orchestrated by Scott Corridan – one of Lake Tahoe’s hottest wedding designers – a team of industry creatives convened at the Ritz-Carlton for a fun-filled day with a striking, hazel-eyed male model. As I typically contribute to photo shoots featuring the fairer sex, it was a distinct treat to venture into new (testosterone) territory. Without further ado, I present Here Comes the Groom, a unique photo series that highlights the style-savvy bravado of the husband-to-be.

Bright-green lamb's tongue leaves, complemented with a ship's rope and helm in miniature, infuse maritime masculinity into the boutonnière.

Miss Jen, Thank you so much. The shot on the stairs is one of my favorites, too. I love how the stones and wood are so earthy….and the magenta lighting is such a contrast. It was such a beautiful location. The Ritz-Carlton is a great place to shoot.

Catherine – Totally Hot!! – The shot on the stairs with the stone sculptures and fuscia lighting is fantastic! – Smiles and Sunshine – Jen Herbig

Mike, Who knew a groom shoot would be so novel and fun? Can you send me a link to some of your fav groom images? Male models have such a diff vibe than women–am I right??

Nice work. I love shoots of the groom. Totally needed, and I’m proud that Grace Published this!
